Normal wear and tear and rough handling may cause the drawer to crack or break. If the drawer is cracked, the humidity level will be affected, and the drawer will not function efficiently. Replacing the drawer is a simple process requiring no tools. Pull the broken drawer out and put the new one in the slot. Some refrigerators have both a high-humidity level bin and a low-humidity bin. The low humidity drawer is better suited to fruits and vegetables that rot quickly, like stone fruits and apples or pears. Lettuce and leafy vegetables should be in the high-humidity drawer.
