Description
Tub Centering Spring Kit W10400895 / AP5263280.
Note: Contains 2 springs. This tub centering spring is a genuine OEM replacement part sourced directly from the manufacturer and is intended for use in many washing machines. These springs are used to decrease the amount of shaking the tub does during washing and spinning. Located between the drain pump filter and the tub’s suspension ball, the springs allow the tub to move just enough to wash and spin laundry without moving freely. Tension from the springs keeps the tub from banging around during operation. If the springs break due to normal wear and tear, the tub will have free movement and make a loud, banging noise during use. Disconnect the power from the washing machine before replacing the springs. Make sure the tub is drained. A screwdriver and pliers are needed to remove and replace the springs. Remove the control panel and top of the washing machine to access the tub. Remove the tub to replace the missing or broken springs. There are two springs, one on the right and one on the left. Make sure both are working and in good condition while the machine is disassembled. Reinstall all parts after replacing the springs. These tub centering springs are made of durable metal and come two to a pack. These springs are designed for washing machines manufactured by Whirlpool, Roper, Inglis, Kenmore, Amana, and Maytag.
