Description

Motor Spacer 8184109 / AP3128340.

This is a turntable motor spacer that is part of the turntable assembly in microwave ovens. The motor spacer provides a seal between the motor shaft and the motor coupler to protect the motor from being damaged by water generated during cooking inside the microwave. As the microwave ages and is used regularly, this spacer may become damaged or worn and need to be replaced to prevent more extensive and expensive damage to the motor. Loud noises when the oven is being used or the turntable not rotating are indicators that the spacer should be replaced. To start, disconnect the power to the microwave. Remove the glass turntable and support ring from inside the microwave and turn the microwave oven over onto its back. Remove the screws fastening the bottom panel in place. To start, disconnect all the wires attached to the bottom panel and then set the panel to the side. Remover the motor. Take the old spacer off the motor shaft and slide the new one. Reassemble the microwave and reconnect the power. This turntable spacer is an authentic OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer for use on use in microwave ovens made by Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, and Amana. It is a white plastic part that is sold individually.
