Description

Interlock Switch WD21X10224 / AP3872949.

This interlock switch is found on dishwashers and is designed to ensure the dishwasher will not operate with the door open. If the interlock switch fails, the dishwasher will not operate or may operate without the door being closed. Normal wear and tear from daily use can cause the interlock switch to stop working. It may begin to stop mid-cycle or intermittently operate as the switch begins failing. This is a good indicator to replace the switch. If the machine will power on with the door open, the interlock switch is bad. This is a very affordable, simple repair that can save hundreds of dollars when compared to buying a new dishwasher. A screwdriver is needed to replace the interlock switch. Disconnect the power to the dishwasher. Remove the screws from the inside cover of the door. Next, remove the covering over the switch. Pull the switch out and remove the wires to disconnect it. Attach the wires to the new switches and install them. Replace the switch cover and door cover. This part is a genuine OEM interlock switch explicitly made for GE dishwashers and sourced directly from the manufacturer.
