Water filter (part number 3844609) is for refrigerators without a built-in water filter. The filter quickly connects directly to your refrigerator’s water supply line. The filter contains activated carbon, a black powder. After installing the filter, flush 5 gallons through to allow fine, harmless particles to purge from the filter, until you no longer see the particles in the filtered water (approximately 10 minutes).
