Dispenser Housing Shield WR17X11170 / AP3187506.

This dispenser housing shield is part of the water and ice dispenser assembly found on refrigerators. This housing covers the inner workings of the dispenser. This is an authentic OEM replacement part that is sourced directly from the manufacturer. It is made of high-quality plastic but can crack or break over time. If it cracks or breaks, it will need to be replaced.To start, disconnect the power and water from the refrigerator. A Phillips head and flat head screwdriver are needed for this replacement. Use the screwdriver to remove the overlay and dispenser board from the front of the housing shield. The screws are located at the top of the dispenser board and accessed from underneath. To start, disconnect the wiring from the dispenser board and remove the housing shield from the refrigerator. Remove the funnel and lighting from the back of the housing shield. Install the new housing shield and reconnect the wiring and funnel. Reinstall the dispenser board and overlay. Restore the power and water and ensure that the dispenser is working. This housing shield is made of durable plastic and is sold as a single unit. It is designed for use in refrigerators manufactured by General Electric and Hotpoint.
