This is an authentic OEM micro switch sourced directly from the manufacturer for use dishwashers. The micro switch is used to protect the dishwasher and kitchen if the unit overflows. The switch shuts down the dishwasher and sends a message to the circuit board that the unit has overflowed. The circuit board then displays an error message so that the user knows there is a problem. When the dishwasher overflows, the water runs into the base and lifts the float up. As the float rises, it hits the microswitch, which sets the operation in motion. If the microswitch fails, it will need to be replaced.Disconnect the power and water from the dishwasher. Pull the washer out from the cabinet. Open the dishwasher and remove the racks. Use towels to dry up any water in the bottom. Turn the dishwasher over and take the panel off to access the sump. Remove the micro switch and replace it with the new one.
